MidCap Alliance advises the shareholder of Alete in the sale to DMK Group

In order to further develop its baby food business and as part of the ongoing re-alignment process, Germany’s largest dairy cooperative DMK Group (revenues of EUR 5.8bn) has acquired Alete GmbH, Germany’s renowned baby food producer. DMK Group (with brands such as Humana, Milram, Uniekaas) will focus on value creation and thus take a very market and consumer-oriented approach. The baby food market is very important for the dairy cooperative: DMK is currently investing approximately EUR 145m in a complete renovation of a site in Strückhausen (Lower Saxony) to create a new base for the premium baby food brand Humana.
With the acquisition of the brands Alete and Milasan, DMK is making a sensible addition to its product range whilst also significantly expanding its sales and distribution footprint. The combination of the baby milk Humana and the well-regarded baby food brand of Alete provides DMK Group with more exposure to a highly attractive market with sustained growth rates.

In the course of the transaction, the production facility in Weiding/Bavaria was carved-out and remains the property of the seller.

All the necessary steps, including the antitrust review, have been completed.
