Rembrandt M&A acted as advisor to Hembrug Machine Tools in the sale to Danobat Group

For over 50 years, Hembrug Machine Tools (B.V. Gereedschapswerktuigenindustrie Hembrug and Hemtech Machine Tools B.V.) designs, builds and sells the most accurate hard turning machines in the world under the name Mikroturn®. With its headquarters in Haarlem (The Netherlands), the company has manufactured ultra precision turning machines with in-house hydrostatic technology since 1969. It is a healthy profitable company and in 2018 it had a turnover in excess of 14 million euros. Hembrug employs more than 60 people and is present in the bearing industry, mould & die sector, but also the precision industry. It has since long a strong presence in Europe, and has in the last decade extended its network in North America and several Asian countries.

DANOBAT is a benchmark manufacturer of high value-added solutions in the field of grinding, turning, cutting, punching, bending and automated production systems for composite structural components. Danobat is a subsidiary of the Spanish Mondragon Corporation, with its 70,000 employees one of the largest in the world.

This acquisition will allow DANOBAT to strengthen its position in the field of finish hard turning. The operation represents a step forward in the sectoral diversification and internationalisation strategy of the Danobatgroup, an industrial group to which Danobat belongs.
